This course on Resilient Livelihoods is designed to equip participants with the knowledge and skills necessary to build and sustain resilient communities, particularly in the face of socio-economic and environmental challenges. Starting with an introduction to resilient livelihoods, it moves on to cover vulnerability assessment and risk management techniques essential for identifying and mitigating threats. The course emphasizes the importance of diversification and income generation, alongside sustainable natural resource management and climate adaptation strategies. It explores the role of social capital and community networks in enhancing resilience, and the significance of financial inclusion and social safety nets. Incorporating case studies, with a special focus on Somalia, the course provides practical insights into building resilience in diverse contexts, culminating in a forward-looking perspective on future directions in resilient livelihood development.
